Yes!!! Finally Ricky Martin felt it was the right time for him to come out about his sexuality and decided to do that through his blog. He is currently working on his autobiography and knew that now was a great opportunity to come out of the closet and he said that he is “a fortunate homosexual man” Which I complete agree with him.

Ricky: “Because all this advice came from people who I love dearly, I decided to move on with my life not sharing with the world my entire truth. Allowing myself to be seduced by fear and insecurity became a self-fulfilling prophecy of sabotage. Today I take full responsibility for my decisions and my actions … Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen five or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment.”

I truly love his courageousness and hope that he feels a huge weight lifted up and hope he realizes how many other gay celebrities are in the same boat with him. Even though most of us new he was gay. It is very hard for celebrities or some people in general to come out because the fear of being ridiculed, judged and or bashed. But it was about time he came out. I could only imagine what it feels like to be suck in the closet.

On Ricky’s official site he stated “I am very blessed to be who I am.” and that the thoughts of his two sons and having his autobiographer done lead him to go public.

“To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where [sic] born with. Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen 5 or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment,” he wrote.

Other celebrities that have came out the closet are Ellen DeGeneres, Neil Patrick Harris, Cynthia Nixon, Lance Bass, Melissa Etheridge, Sarah Gilbert, Christian Siriano, Wanda Sykes, Adam Lambert, George Takei, Rosie O’Donnell, Elton John, and Clay Aiken.
Bi-sexual celebrities that came out are Drew Barrymore, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Lucy Liu, Brigitte Bardot, Liza Minnelli, Jane Fonda, Nelly Furtado, Joan Crawford, Megan Fox and Lady Gaga.
